marina capo d'orlando

The Project

An infrastructure born from the territory

The Capo d’Orlando Tourist Port was born from a virtuous synergy between public and private, an example of integrated design that has transformed the Tyrrhenian coast of the province of Messina into one of the most modern nautical poles in Sicily.

The construction works included the lengthening of the breakwater, the strengthening of the protective mantle, the dredging of the seabed and the construction of 553 berths for boats up to 50 meters.
Each intervention followed criteria of environmental sustainability and safety, guaranteeing the marina a high resistance to storm surges and harmonious integration with the coastal landscape.

From design to reality

Officially inaugurated in July 2017, Capo d’Orlando Marina today represents an excellence in the Sicilian port scene.

The intervention has returned to the city of Capo d’Orlando an infrastructure of strategic value, capable of combining functionality, aesthetics and economic development, and promoting a new culture of sustainable boating in the Mediterranean.

A port that enhances history

Inside the port area, a panoramic pedestrian path accompanies visitors to the Mercadante Quarries, an evocative archaeological site from the Roman age.
Here, among the outcropping rocks, ancient oil mills were extracted, which are now visible at low tide: a testimony that combines the history of the area with the contemporary identity of the port.
